Anastasis, The Nutritionist Yogi, is a registered Nutritional Therapist & Yoga Teacher from Athens, based in London. His mission is to improve the body’s energy metabolism using traditional approaches and findings of modern scientific research.
Before studying Nutrition & Yoga, Anastasis served in the special forces as a paratrooper, traded currency derivatives for a German bank for 6 years and picked up a couple of other dopamine-driven hobbies. In 2009 personal waist issues (ie. 8 extra kilos) drove his interest in nutrition starting a long journey of research in the fields of metabolic function and nutrigenomics. In 2015 after following the guidelines of modern healthy eating (ie. vegetarianism, GFD) he developed so many food intolerances he could only eat 5 foods. Using fasting and common sense he managed to reverse his gut health 180° and is now able to enjoy pizza as much as celery juice. He is currently supporting people receiving medical care for cancer and autoimmune conditions.
Anastasis started practicing Yoga in 2010, in the most unorthodox way: an Acroyoga class. He stayed devoted to the practice for 2 year before his eyes opened to the non-physical aspects of Yoga in to an Anusara class with Katchie Ananda that the 1st Barcelona Yoga Conference. Anastasis’s understanding of asanas have been formed primarily by the teachings of Eileen Gauthier. He has studied with guruji Andrey Lappa in 2014, the founder of Universal Yoga & sequentially with Eugene Poku & Jesse Goldberg from Acroyoga Montreal.
“Since 2015 the focus of my asana practice has been “the handstand” as I consider it to be a pose that uniquely demands: strength, flexibility and coordination. In 2016 I started body temperature training. My studies with Patrick McKowen & Wim Hof have played a pivotal role in my understanding of human physiology. Their techniques are incorporated in both my yoga teaching & clinical practice.”
